planning for my new york trip
my friend just passed nursing school so i’m going to visit new york to celebrate.
i’m going to try to either bring my books (to pass out or sell) or maybe have some meetings with industrial design firms in brooklyn or manhattan about my career in design in regards to theirs.
i specialize in dude shit, like commercial man-job bobcat trucking (i have my cdl-a license) tools, heavy equipment, tractors, chippers, all that. i have many more designs but i can’t swamp my portfolio site. i just love when things work, efficiently and effectively.
(i push the purpose of the product to be better for power users)
if i can dream up a tool or solution to make things more effective and efficient i will. I’m constantly scanning my environment and different industries for bottlenecks, weak, slow or non-optimal tools/products. this is where we find the really cool design ‘prompts’. prompting me to skin a cat in a more adept fashion.
but me and my friend are gonna get some nyc pizza, go to the ice cream museum, walk the highline (again). go to coney island maybe ride a coaster and dress like a russian with a gold chain.
life, as short, complex, simple, confusing or clear it is, i’ll be in nyc this month, and i’m looking to network or partner asap. orlando isn’t really a hotbed for design like san fran and nyc. so i would indubitably consider relocating to nyc if i was able to secure a role as a design worker.
i was too lazy to go out for mechanical engineering in college, i opted to get into event managment. a lot of speeches, some business basics, and a lot of empathy for different industries and audiences.
i would love to network, feel free to contact me.
